Robotaxis in Las Vegas: Waymo, Zoox, and Uber in plain English
How to install the right apps, read service areas, and avoid pickup mistakes during conventions—without confusing marketing with coverage.
Las Vegas is a magnet for autonomous pilots and EV-heavy rideshare. That does not mean a robotaxi will appear the second you tap “request.” Each operator controls its own map, hours, and vehicle mix.
Waymo One
Waymo publishes a rides map and app flow on its site. Install the app before you land, complete any account steps on Wi‑Fi, and only walk to the staging pin the app shows—not the lobby curb you wish existed.
Zoox
Zoox’s Las Vegas presence is program-driven. Read Zoox’s city page for how access works during your visit; do not assume curbside pickup matches traditional rideshare.
Uber
Uber can show human-driven EVs or partner products depending on time and place. Read the vehicle card before you confirm—especially during surge pricing or arena exits.
Planning checklist
- Charge your phone; you may need live maps for 20+ minutes after big events.
- Keep a backup: taxi stand, hotel car, or our Rent EV directory.
- Pair trips with charging stops if you are also driving a rental EV.
